Either way, everyone is probably happy they won’t have to hear my whinging anymore. Ever since, I’ve been whining that I can’t play the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series, usually on Twitter but also often to my spouse. Most importantly, it’s coming to Nintendo Switch, which instantly became my preferred console when I purchased one six months ago. It also counts with a beautifully rearranged soundtrack in a faithful FF style, overseen by original composer Nobuo Uematsu.There are few words that could actually express my excitement over being able to write this, and most and curses, so let’s just say that I’m extremely excited to finally be able to state that yes, the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series is finally coming to consoles. ▍About the Final Fantasy Pixel RemasterĮach of the six games contains universally updated 2D pixel graphics, including the iconic FF character designs created by Kazuko Shibuya, the original artist, and current collaborator. Physical versions of the remasters will also be available for USD$74.99. This version, which comes enclosed in a special anniversary box, will contain a physical copy of the game, a 2-disc vinyl set, a lenticular 0-sleeve, and a set of pixel figurines. ▍Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster FF35th Anniversary EditionĪ special Anniversary edition is now being sold exclusively to the Square Enix store for USD$259.99 or EUR274,99. Up until now, the Pixel Remasters have largely remained mobile and PC only, but now you can take the adventure on the go with the Nintendo Switch version or play on the big screen with the PlayStation 4 version! Each of the titles can be purchased individually or all together as a bundle. A special Edition was also announced to celebrate the series’ 35th anniversary. Square Enix announced that the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Spring 2023.
